Jaylyn Laguna, Women's Basketball Defensive

Florida National University freshman Jaylyn Laguna was named the Continental Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week on December 8, 2025.

Laguna averaged 16.3 points and six rebounds across three games. The Pembroke Pines, Florida, native helped the Conquistadors post back-to-back wins against the University of Fort Lauderdale (Florida) and New College of Florida. The freshman had 22 points against Fort Lauderdale last Friday and followed one day later with 10 points and nine rebounds to go along with three steals.
