
Spartanburg Methodist’s Brown, Florida National’s Ferrin Arias Named CAC Men’s Outdoor Track Athletes of the Week
Spartanburg Methodist College (South Carolina) sophomore Romeo Brown and Florida National University freshman Wenceslao Ferrin Arias have garnered the Continental Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors for their performances in recent meets.
Brown, the Athlete of the Week, won the 100-meter dash and placed second in the 200-meter dash at the John Hunter-James Classic, hosted by Columbia International University in Columbia, South Carolina.
The Newberry, South Carolina, native posted second-best program marks in the 100-meter dash (10.70 seconds) and 200-meter dash (22.22 seconds).
Meanwhile, Ferrin Arias, the Field Athlete of the Week, recorded a pair of top 10 finishes in the high jump and javelin events at the St. Thomas University Under the Lights Invitational in Miami Gardens, Florida.
The Cali, Columbia, native had a fifth-place finish clearing the 1.77 meter bar in the high jump. Later, he placed seventh in the javelin throw with a toss of 39.13 meters.
