Florida National Sweeps CAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Awards

Standout performances a pair of Florida National University seniors have been honored with the Continental Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week awards.

Janelisse Marty Marrero, the Offensive Player of the Week, recorded a triple-double with 22 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists in helping the Conquistadors to win both games at last weekend's CAC Classic.

The guard had 18 points and 12 rebounds in an 82-81 overtime victory against Spartanburg Methodist College (South Carolina) last Thursday.

The San Juan, Puerto Rico, native closed out her productive week with the triple-double performance in a triumph against Fisher College (Massachusetts) last Saturday.

Meanwhile, teammate Charlette Leurs, the Defensive Player of the Week, averaged 18.7 points and 14.3 rebounds in her first three games this season. The forward scored 27 points and grabbed 22 rebounds against Spartanburg Methodist.

The Brewster, New York, native followed with 17 points and 16 rebounds against Fisher.

Both performances have helped the Conquistadors remain undefeated in games against CAC opponents this season.
