Talladega Players Sweep CAC Women’s Soccer Weekly Honors
Talladega College (Alabama) sophomore Annalise Vincent and graduate student Natalie Nedd have earned the Continental Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week awards.
Vincent, the Offensive Player of the Week, tied a program and conference record by scoring eight goals in a victory against Oakwood University (Alabama) on Sunday. Her eight goals are the sixth most recorded in NAIA women's soccer history.
The Tornadoes scored 22 times in the triumph, marking the seventh most goals in NAIA history and the most scored by a NAIA Historically Black Colleges or Universities member.
Vincent also found the back of the net against NCAA Division III Oglethorpe University (Georgia) last Saturday.
Nedd, the Defensive Player of the Week, was the goalkeeper as the Tornadoes defeated two opponents last week. She helped the team post two shutouts and played 160 minutes in front of the goal.
